Business Valuation
Understanding the true value of your business is essential in order to be able to make a variety of business decisions that will provide the optimal results for you and your company. There are many situations in which businesses need to be valued: estate tax planning, gifting programs, divorce, business sale or acquisition, partner dissolutions, and Sub-Chapter S elections. Our certified valuation analysts provide a comprehensive and objective analysis to ensure that the decisions made are based on sound evidence and reasoning, not emotion.

Employee Benefit Plan Audits
When a company has over 100 employees participating in its 401(k) plan, the IRS and the Department of Labor require that plan to be audited every year to ascertain that the plan complies with the appropriate rules. These audits are detail oriented and somewhat unconventional, so it's best to have an accounting firm that does them frequently. We're one of the few accounting firms in Massachusetts that does these audits and does them well.

Peer Review
Once every three years, every CPA firm that issues financial statements needs to be reviewed by an independent CPA firm. The results of this independent review get reported back to the Massachusetts Peer Review Acceptance Board. At PFC, we're one of the relatively few firms in Massachusetts to be certified to perform these reviews. Many times, dealing with a smaller firm can be beneficial. We educate you on how to correct or improve deficiencies while highlighting your strengths.
