July 10, 2009 Wayland, MA--- Paresky Flitt & Company, LLP, a certified public accounting firm based in Wayland, announced that it has awarded scholarships to Latasha Kelley, Framingham High School graduate, and Laura Mullen, recent graduate of Natick High School. Latasha will attend University of Massachusetts Amherst in the fall and Laura will attend Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. Each student will major in business.
The Paresky Flitt & Company Academic Scholarship Program, which was established in 2009, will be given annually to high school seniors graduating from Natick, Framingham and Wayland high schools. The awards are offered to students who plan to pursue a bachelor's degree in business. Eligibility is also based on academic standing, school activities and community service. In announcing the program, Michael Okenquist CPA and firm partner said "Advanced education is important to students and to the changing job market. Importantly, the numbers of available certified public accountants are contracting. Our goal with the program is to raise awareness and to encourage students to look toward to building a career in this challenging and rewarding profession."
